Potts: Main thing is Whiteleas and Harton don't underestimate lowly rivals

Whiteleas and Harton CC make the journey to Mainsforth for their Readers Durham Cricket League Division One clash.

Following last week’s outstanding win over Seaham Park, Leas will be hoping to follow it up with a positive outcome against opposition, who currently sit bottom of the table.

However, skipper Andrew Potts is urging his side not to take anything for granted.

Potts said: “As good a victory last Saturday was, we need to continue and get a strong result tomorrow.

“Mainsforth were playing premier league cricket last season, so are capable of turning round a difficult season so far. We have to be on our guard.”

There are three changes to the Leas side, with batsmen Owen Peterson and Grant Parkin returning.

Seam bowler Ryan Hale has returned to the club from South Shields and is thrown straight into the mix.

Bottom club Mainsforth are without Curtis Bihari, Aidan Cummings and Will Reynard, but Glenn Donaldson, Adam Thompson and Danny Hooper return to the squad.

Chairman Tony Johns said: “We’ll just have to keep battling, after losing by only two runs last weekend against Bill Quay.”

Sid Corner Snr’s Second XI welcome Mainsforth to Harton Welfare (1.30pm start).

Bowler James Dance returns, along with Pete Sowden.

The first XI start their f15 campaign tonight, making the short trip to Hylton, 6pm start.
