Whiteleas and Harton CC suffered a disappointing defeat away at Esh Winning.
Asked to bat first, Whiteleas made a solid start with some positive batting from opening pair of Alan Beadle and Grant Parkin, before the latter departed in the ninth over with the score on 38.
Quick wickets followed and with that match 80-4, the game was in the balance.
However, Esh Winning turned the screw, thanks to Eddie Watson (5-32), who finally removed the defiant Beadle (38) as well as the key wicket of Bilawal Iqbal (22).
Despite youngster Lewis Surtees (20) showing some late order resistance, Whiteleas were all bowled out for 136.
Esh then soon knocked off the winning runs, with Stu Hall making 42 not out and man-of-the-match Watson bashing out a total of 64, which included seven sixes.
Esh have now moved up to third in the Readers Durham Cricket League Division One, after their seven-wicket success.
The Second XI enjoyed an excellent victory at home to Esh Winning in a low-scoring encounter.
Batting first, Whiteleas could only muster 112 all out, with Iain Jones and Sonu Pathak joint top scoring with a steady 25 runs each.
However, Esh found the bowling of Rian (6-34) too hot to handle as they were all bowled out for 74 to give Leas a 20 point return.
