FIRST LOOK: Christmas at Gibside 2022 - hearts aglow on magical new trail

HEARTS really are all aglow at this year’s Christmas At Gibside – the magical after-dark trail is now open with a heart-warming new showstopper.

Lovers, friends, and families can hold hands beneath the spectacular Heart Arch Walk, designed by ArtAV.

It promises to be a memories making selfie moment but it’s just one of many Instagrammable highlights.

The newly designed after-dark trail again magically transform the National Trust's 18th-century landscaped Georgian gardens into a winter wonderland at Rowlands Gill, near Gateshead, on selected nights now until January 1, 2023.

BUY TICKETS: Guarantee your tickets, advanced from £19.50 adult, £14 child and £64 family (two adults and two children). Free entry for carers and children aged two and under. All tickets - CLICK HERE.

Timed entry slots will operate to limit capacity and visitors are urged to book in advance, to secure their preferred date and entrance time.

Christmas at Gibside is brought by Sony Music in partnership with the National Trust. The trail is created by Culture Creative.

An array of light artworks awaits visitors including 700 meters of fairy lights and a 36-meter-long Christmas Cathedral on the route.

Choreographed to the sound of festive music, multiple artworks by UK and international artists also include illuminated huge snowballs, tree arches, neon flowers, and even a giant robin.

Friends and family are being invited to make memories wandering between the artistically curated illuminations beneath the night sky.

Christmas at Gibside provides a special way to celebrate the festive period with an unforgettable outdoor experience, designed for visitors of all ages and is accessible for all to enjoy, say organisers.

You pause at the mesmerising colours and even get a glimpse Father Christmas along the way.

End the trail at Gibside and warm up under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with friends and family. Everyone loves toasting a marshmallow over an open fire and the artisan marshmallow stall gives visitors the chance to warm their hands and enjoy this sweet outdoor tradition.

Food and drink is priced separately.
