Paul Shriek and Matt Fox have once again created a stunning visual world that both the cast of Snow White and the audience can immerse themselves in.

Snow White is being brought back to South Shields theatre for the first time since 1994, when it became the first pantomime to be performed at the theatre.

The Customs House officially celebrated its 25th anniversary last month and award-winning designer Paul has been working with The Customs House on its annual panto for 10 years with colleague Matt Fox.

Paul received a Great British Panto Award for Best Costume for his work on The Lambton Worm in 2017.

He said: “Snow White is a visual journey into the world of vanity and 1950s retro glamour. Taking the mind of a wicked Queen and tipping it over the edge into Salvador Dali’s dream sequence from Alfred Hitchock’s Spellbound, its an era of vintage Hollywood, inspired by Christian Dior couture and a forgotten sense of style.”

Fox and Shriek also worked with Year 3 and 4 pupils from Dunn Street Primary School in Jarrow on costume ideas for Snow White and Arbuthnot earlier this year.

Paul said: “Their enthusiasm and talent was an inspiration which has been raised into digital fabric print design for the characters.”

Snow White runs until Sunday, January 5.

Performance time vary. Tickets cost £9.99 from the box office.
