Whitburn singer, Lewis Curry and his band will perform live at the Life of Riley on Mile End Road, South Shields at 7.30pm on Friday, June 12.

Despite still being closed to the public due to the lockdown restrictions, fans will be able to tune in from the pub’s Facebook page where the whole performance will be streamed virtually.

Lewis, 27, – who is one of the venue’s regular live music acts – organised the event to raise money for staff at South Tyneside District Hospital as a way of saying thanks to those who have been on the frontline throughout the coronavirus crisis.

The band will play a range of well-known popular music – with a few of their original songs thrown in too – while all keeping to social distancing guidelines.

Lewis, whose day job as music teacher and performer is currently on hold, due to lockdown, added: “We played at the Life of Riley quite often before the coronavirus outbreak, so we know that there’s plenty of room for us all to space out.

“I’m hoping we can raise at least £500 for them – they have done such an amazing job.”
