COLLABRO star Jamie Lambert says he can’t wait to play a homecoming gig tonight.
The Britain’s Got Talent winners are taking to the stage for a sold-out concert at Newcastle City Hall.
The tour is just amazing. I can’t get over how amazing it is.Jamie Lambert
The classical boy band, who stormed to victory on the show last year, are at the venue as part of their first UK tour.
It’s a gig that Jamie has been particularly looking forward to.
The 25-year-old, from Rickleton, Washington, said: “I can’t wait for Newcastle. I performed at the City Hall when I was at school so it’s going to be amazing to go back and sing there again.
“I’m going to visit my old school, Dame Allan’s, in Newcastle tomorrow too, which will be a lot of fun.”
Jamie and his bandmates Michael Auger, Richard Hadfield, Matt Pagan and Thomas J Redgrave, have been enjoying sell- out shows on their tour so far.
They’re being supported on the tour by fellow Britain’s Got Talent contestant Lucy Kay.
Jamie said: “The tour is just amazing. I can’t get over how amazing it is. This is definitely what we’ve always wanted to do and we’re just thoroughly enjoying it.
“The show is a real spectacle and the reactions have just been amazing – we’re getting six standing ovations every night. It’s unbelievable.”
The boys, who have just celebrated the one year anniversary of their Britain’s Got Talent audition, recently announced their second album, which will hit shelves in June.
Their first album, Stars, debuted at the No.1 spot in the charts and was certified Gold after selling more than 100,000 copies.
Jamie added: “The fact that Syco came to us and said they wanted another album from us is just an amazing feeling.”
