A teenage singer from South Tyneside had fans flocking from across Europe to see her perform.
Abi Garrido took part in the South Tyneside Festival on Sunday and performed in front of more than 24,000 people at a packed-out Bents Park in South Shields.
While the headline acts Billy Ocean and Gwen Dickey have had more then five decades to gather supporters, Abi, from Jarrow, was in for a surprise of her own.
Brian Berg had travelled all the way from Denmark to see the 17-year-old after first hearing her perform on her YouTube channel, where some of her videos have more than 118,000 views.
He said: “I first heard Abi sing a track by Naughty Boy and I thought she was very good.
“I always said that I wanted to see her perform live, and so here I am. I thought she was amazing, she is very talented.”

Brian had also hand-drawn Abi two portraits of herself and handed them over after she performed.
Abi, who was the Gazette’s Young Performer of the Year in 2012, was picked up by Dubai and UK-based artist management company RU:Listening earlier this month.
She said: “I can’t believe Brian came all the way over from Denmark to see me perform, that was lovely.
“The gig was amazing, I’ve performed three times now for the festival, I think this year was definitely the best. It was a bit nerve-wracking having to open for Billy Ocean though.”
Abi is now looking forward to jetting off to Dubai.
She said: “It’s all very exciting at the moment and a little bit crazy.
“I’ve only just signed, there’s been lots of meetings, but with it being Dubai-based I am hoping to fly over there soon and do some work, I can’t wait to get started.
