A Paris gig by South Tyneside indie rockers Little Comets has been cancelled in the wake of terrorism attacks on the city.
The band – made up of Jarrow brothers Rob and Mickey Coles and Washington’s Matt Hall – took to social media to let fans know they would no longer be performing in France on Friday night.
The lads have been touring Europe since November 14 and have so far played in Den Haag, in the Netherlands, Berlin, Germany, and Vienna, Austria, at festivals and other events.
Tonight, they’ll return to Germany for a gig in Hamburg and another tomorrow in Haldern.
They were due to play at Howl Festival in Paris on Friday, but the event has been cancelled.
The band, who have just released third album Hope is Just A State of Mind, posted on their Facebook page, saying: “It is with our hearts at their heaviest that we have to inform you that our gig in Paris at Howl Music Festival has been cancelled. We will be back very soon and hope you are all safe and well. Big love.”
They added: “We will be back as soon as it’s humanly possible. Hope everyone is well.”
Organisers of the festival, Live Nation France, made the decision to cancel the event after the attacks that took more than 100 lives.
Little Comets will be touring the UK in February.
