Girl group Little Mix have announced a major UK and Ireland arena tour, including a North-East date.
South Shields singers Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards and bandmates Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock will be playing 13 arena dates around the country next spring.
The tour starts in Cardiff on March 13, and the ‘home’ leg for Jade and Perrie is at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Thursday, March 17.
The dates include a return to The O2 in London, where Leigh-Anne said of their previous sell-out visit: “To have our fans singing songs, that we’d helped write, back to us, was a dreams-come-true moment.”
News of the tour comes hot on the heels of Little Mix’s new worldwide smash-hit single Black Magic, which stormed straight to No.1 on the Official Chart in the UK yesterday.
It sold more than 113,000 copies and was streamed more than 1 million times, according to sales figures from the Official Charts Company.
The girls said: “We’re super-duper excited to be number one with Black Magic - we never thought we’d see the day again. Thank you so much to the fans ... you did this!”
Black Magic is the first single from their eagerly-awaited third album Get Weird, which is due for global release on Friday, November 6.
They have the honour of occupying the top slot in the first full week’s singles chart issued on a Friday.
The move came after the music industry agreed Friday would be the international synchronised release day to allow fans to get their hands on new releases at the same time and cut down on piracy.

Since Little Mix won The X Factor in 2011, they have sold over seven million records, had three UK No.1 singles and two-selling platinum albums, DNA and Salute.
As well as a successful arena tour they have been the recipients of both a Cosmo Ultimate Woman Award and a Glamour Women Of The Year Award.
With over half a billion YouTube and Vevo views worldwide, they’ve also successfully become one of Britain’s greatest exports, with massive tours in the US, Australia and Japan – breaking the Spice Girls’ long-held record of highest debut US chart position for a UK girl group in the process.
