ONE of the finest North-East bands of their generation are set to celebrate a special anniversary with a series of live shows and re-releases.
Maxïmo Park, who released their debut album A Certain Trigger in May 2005, are embarking on a short UK tour to marks its 10th anniversary.
It will include a date at Newcastle City Hall on Thursday, November 19 – the first time they have ever played at the venue.
Formed in the city in 2000, the band have gone on to sell 2.5 million albums around the world.
Their first album – containing such favourites as Going Missing, Apply Some Pressure andThe Coast Is Always Changing – is still the one their fans love most, and they will be celebrating 10 years since its release by playing it in its entirety, along with a special selection of single tracks and rarities.
Renowned for their energetic live shows, Maxïmo Park have numerous sold-out tours to their name, including various headlining arena shows in Europe.
Their last UK tour came last year in support of their last album, Too Much Information, which reached No 7 in the UK.
A Certain Trigger and Missing Songs – comprising B-sides and demos from sessions in 2005 – have been re-mastered and will be available on limited-edition vinyl on October 30.

Tickets for the Newcastle City Hall show and others in London, Manchester and Glasgow will go on sale at 9am this Friday.
