Pop star Perrie Edwards took a break from her jet set lifestyle to pose for selfies in a Hartlepool social club.
One quarter of hit band Little Mix, Perrie, from South Shields, visited the Belle Vue Social Club in Kendal Road on Sunday night to see her dad Alexander Edwards perform on stage in band Alexander’s Palace.
Though she wasn’t in the spotlight for once, the 22-year-old, who was at the club with younger sister Caitlin, managed to cause a stir with punters and happily posed for a number of selfies with fans.
After a whirlwind promotional tour with Little Mix in support of new single Hair, the singer’s been enjoying some time back in her native North East.
People took to social media to express their shock at her surprise appearance in Hartlepool and the singer posted videos of herself having a good time on Snapchat.
Karen Charlton wrote: “She’s been great, letting people have photos, such a down to earth girl.”
Another Facebook wrote: “She was lovely and did as many pictures as she could. Her dad Alex has been going for for over 30 years and you can clearly see where she gets her vocals from. At the end of the day she’s just like any of us, only she got a big break.”
Since winning X Factor in 2011, Perrie and Little Mix, which also includes fellow South Shields singer Jade Thirlwall, have enjoyed huge success. Their hits include Wings, Salute and DNA.
