Young Irish blues-rock band The Strypes have been added to the bill for next week’s Foo Fighters show at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, it was announced today.
With indie favourites Kaiser Chiefs already lined up as the main support act, the first gig of the UK leg of the American rockers’ Sonic Highways tour promises to be a treat.
Around 50,000 fans will flock to Sunderland on Bank Holiday Monday, as Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters take to the Stadium of Light stage.
The support acts are expected to begin at about 6pm, and fans are advised to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to avoid queues or delays on entry.
External courtyards will be open from approximately 2pm, and a vast array of food and drinks will be available.
The show will end at approximately 11pm.
A small number of additional general admission and seated tickets with prime views have been released for the show.
They are available to buy directly from the Stadium of Light ticket office or by calling the ticket hotline, 0191 551 5004.
The ticket office is open 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday and from 10am until 1pm on Saturdays.
