A sporting club is aiming to raise funds by hosting a weekend of live music.
South Shields & Westoe Club is opening its doors to music fans as an array of local bands hit the stage.
The event kicks off at the club, in Dean Road, South Shields, on Friday and will run for three days.
Manager Jan Robinson says the festival is designed for the whole family.
She said: “This is the first time we’ve held a music festival and it’s all about raising funds for the club as we’re a charity-based organisation.
“There’s going to be a big marquee with live bands playing, soft play for the kids, food, and cricket too.
“We’re hoping for a really big crowd, and obviously for good weather as well.”
The club is home to hundreds of people from across the borough and beyond who are part of junior and senior rugby and cricket teams.
Jan added: “Everyone at the club is really looking forward to the event and we’re just hoping it’s going to be a big success.
“The club is home to hundreds of people between our junior teams and the adults who come along to play as well, and we offer rugby, cricket, squash and tennis.
“We’re just really hoping that people support the event because we’re a charity and we need to raise funds so we can continue to care for the facilities and provide the services that we do.
“It’s going to be a fun event for all the family so we’re hoping lots of people come along and join us for the weekend.”
Tickets cost £7 per day or £15 for a three-day pass. They can be bought in advance from the club or by calling 0191 456 1506, or on the door.
It runs from 5pm on Friday and from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
