South Shields comedian Chris Ramsey is heading Down Under to host a new I'm A Celebrity spin-off show.

The 30-year-old comic announced the news this morning that he'll be one of the hosts of ITV2's new companion show to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

He'll take on the show, dubbed Extra Camp, alongside Jungle royalty Vicky Pattison, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash.

Chris, from Marsden, said: "I'm one of the new hosts of the ITV2 I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here spin off show!

"This year it's going to be called #ExtraCamp and I'll be sharing hosting duties with past Jungle royalty: Vicky Pattison, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash.

"It'll be LIVE on ITV2 straight after the main show every night during November.

"I'm proper looking forward to it... but I did see a photo the other day of an Australian toilet with a snake in it, so... there's that!

"Hope you all enjoy watching it and let's keep our fingers crossed I don't 'Soccer AM' it, yeah?"

Chris, who also starred in BBC2 sitcom Hebburn and is a regular on TV quiz show Celebrity Juice, was referring to the time he was kicked off a live broadcast of Soccer AM for saying something inappropriate.
