A host of summer fun is on offer for kids during the school holidays.
The Customs House, in South Shields, is offering a number of events to keep youngsters busy while school is out.
Most of the Mill Dam venue’s regular groups for young people – run by the Customs House Cultural Development team – are continuing through the summer, and some are adding extra events and programmes.
For those interested in drama, the Youth Theatre is running summer taster days from 2pm to 4pm, on Monday, August 15 for under-15s, on Monday, August 22 to 15 to 21-year-olds, and on Wednesday, August 31 for under-15s.

Young Interpreter, the venue’s new project for teenagers, is running two taster days in the gallery on Tuesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 18. They run from 11am to 2pm and are for those aged 14 to 19. To find out more, email email@example.com or call 0191 427 3731.
Custom Reels are putting on one-day film-making challenges, where youngsters have the chance to make superhero, spy and animated short films.

Mini Maker sessions, for children aged 12 and under and their families, take place every Monday, from 11am to 2pm.
