A SOUTH Tyneside comic will drop a host of new gags into his act when he takes to a top club’s stage next week.
Jarrow’s Carl Hutchinson will play Newcastle’s The Stand Comedy Club on Tuesday, with the date to be his third solo show at the venue in two years.
As part of his latest material, he will tickle audiences with his experience of taking a bungee jump off the Transporter Bridge in Teesside.
He will also draw on his life-long love of wrestling and how he missed an important morning meeting because he was out all night watching matches dressed as a wrestler.
He is also looking forward to seeing people who have discovered him after he supported fellow South Tynesider Chris Ramsey in Newcastle last month.
Carl said: “When I was asked to jump off the Transporter Bridge for charity, my initial reaction was no, I’m not a fan of heights, falling from heights and I’m not a big fan of Middlesbrough, so take your pick.
“I know a lot of people are coming to the show from Chris Ramsey’s City Hall show last month, so the pressure is on to deliver in my own capacity.”
“It’s my third solo show in two years at The Stand, it’s a wonderful venue and has sold out the last two times so fingers crossed for a third.”
The night will see him perform his Edinburgh Festival show from the summer, as well as old and new jokes, with the performance entitled Here’s Me Show.
Doors open at 7pm and he Carl will take to the stage at 8.30pm. Tickets are £8 and can be bought via www.thestand.co.uk.
