PICTURE SPECIAL: Chris Ramsey, Jason Cook, Sarah Millican head cast of stars who turn out to save venue

A HOST of stars took to the stage to save a South Tyneside theatre from closure.

Borough comedians Jason Cook, Chris Ramsey and Sarah Millican headed up the Customs House Charity Gala.

The stars raised £25,000 by performing two shows at the Mill Dam theatre, in South Shields, yesterday.

They were joined on stage by East Boldon’s X Factor finalist Lola Saunders, swing singer Glen Roughead, BBC Radio Newcastle’s Alfie Joey and Hebburn stars Steffen Peddie, Neil Grainger, Victoria Elliott and Pat Dunn.

Here are a selection of pictures from the show.
