A SOUTH Shields actor is planning to pass on his industry knowledge to aspiring young performers in the region.

Wayne Miller has decided to share his 16 years of professional experience in a series of masterclasses.

If I can pass on some of the knowledge I have learned working on the amazing professional projects I have, then I’ll be very happy.

The 35-year-old is hoping to inspire and guide local talent who want to tread the boards with his Made 4 Stage theatre classes.

Wayne, who is known for his annual adventures as Elfluent in Christmas show, Santa’s Naughty Elf, said: “I’ve been blessed to work with some great teachers, writers, directors and stage technicians over the years.

“They have passed on so much and I have enjoyed being like a sponge absorbing everything in my 16-year learning process.”

The classes will be open to those aged eight to 18.

Wayne, who regularly stars in and directs shows throughout the region, added: “If I can pass on some of the knowledge I have learned working on the amazing professional projects I have, then I’ll be very happy.

“It’s such a hard career so all help in this area is good to have.

“Even if you just want to learn and have fun, a guiding hand and gentle nudge in the right direction can make it even more enjoyable.

“I still have great working relationships with people I have worked with over the years, and love the idea of bringing them in to do specialist workshops for our students.

“It offers them something fresh and new to have masterclass sessions from other professionals.”

The Made 4 Stage theatre classes will cover basic stage techniques, acting, physical theatre, and creative writing and devising.

They will run from Sunday, April 26 at the CustomSpace, in The Captain’s Row, South Shields, from 11am to 1pm.

Each two-hour class costs £8. To find out more or to book a place, email made4stagetheatre@gmail.com
