As a parent, it can be difficult to think how to entertain your children during the holiday season. While there is no snow to play in (yet) here are five festive activities to keep your little ones smiling.

Hand stuff an 16 inch gingerbread man, decorate some gingerbread cookies and make Christmas hot chocolate reindeer’s.

Pre-booking is essential and tickets are £18.

Saturday, December 14, 10.30am to 4.30pm

Interactive theatre where elves Merry, Cookie and Poppy will travel through the Snowflake Forest on a search for Santa.

Enjoy songs and dancing with a hot chocolate.

Tickets are £12 per person and include hot chocolate, tea or coffee and crafts. Tickets are required for both adults and children.

Friday, December 20, 4.30pm

Make a Christmas glow lantern, with a hot chocolate and biscuit. Get a Christmas Eve book to take home along with a believe bell, reindeer dust, hot chocolate cone and a personalised nice list letter.Pre-booking is essential and tickets are £12.

Get into the festive spirit at with a fantastic Christmas craft session.

The event is family friendly and open to everyone.

Children under eight-years-old must be accompanied by an adult.

The Word's storyteller will tell magical Christmas tales as some favourite Christmas characters are projected onto the walls.

Children will sing festive songs, get crafty and play Christmas games.

Booking is essential. Tickets cost, £3.50 per child, £2.50 per adult, £10.50 family of 4, £1 children under 1.
