So as we wait for the warmer weather to fully take hold, we have had a look at what's to come in the South Tyneside calendar. And, as usual, there's plenty of fun to be had for the whole family. Music, running and a food festival to boot - see what takes your fancy in our list.

Sunday, June 23. Commemorate the day with a family fun event along the seafront and into Bents Park.
Enjoy the sweet sounds every Thursday and Saturday evening in June - except June 8.

Taking place every Sunday throughout June, July and August - except July 7.
Saturday, July 6. This year's theme is Space Fantasy.
Sunday, July 7. Classical performances, showstoppers and patriotic favourites in Bents Park.
Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout August, starting August 1. Free fun, games and activities.
Saturday, July 20. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing with a range of fantastic events.
Sunday, September 8. This may not technically be in the summer, but it's a great way to bring a summer of training to a close. Whether you're running or cheering, it's a great event for all to enjoy.
Saturday afternoons from July 27 until September 7. Sing along to all of your favourite songs with some of the best bands in the area.
Saturday, July 13. Taking to the track to raise money for life-saving cancer research.
Saturday, August 24 until Monday, August 26. Food stalls, a market, ales, ciders and cocktails - what more could you want?
Sundays July 14, July 21, July 28 and August 4. Get into the crowd and scream for your favourite act!
