A LEAGUE of superheroes descended on a South Tyneside cinema for a special screening.
Iron Man, The Hulk and Captain America were among the heroic characters to visit Cineworld Boldon as fans turned up to a midnight screening of Avengers: Age Of Ultron.
Some of SHIELD’s agents and bad guy Loki were also at the viewing of Marvel’s new film at the Abingdon Way cinema.
Supervisor Jess Adie said: “It was a fantastic night. The superheroes were brilliant, and everyone loved getting involved.
“We love doing events like these. It’s fantastic to see everyone joining in, having fun and getting their pictures taken with the superheroes.”
Avengers: Age Of Ultron sees the Avengers take on their greatest foe yet.

Ultron, an artificial intelligence, was designed as a peacekeeping robot but is bent on destroying mankind.
