Big queue as Coca-Cola Christmas truck arrives in Sunderland

Hundreds of families are turning out to see Coca-Cola's festive truck after it motored into Sunderland.

The big red vehicle is at Asda's Leechmere store from 1pm to 9pm today, with Wearsiders young and old eager to get a glimpse of it.

As well as being able to get a photograph taken next to the truck, visitors were also handed a free can of Coca Cola, Diet Coke or Coke Zero by the Coca-Cola elves.

The truck has recently been in Scotland, Carlisle and Newcastle over the past few days as it continues its whistle stop tour of the UK.

Claire Watson and partner Barry, 37, visited the truck with son Rhys, two.

Claire, 32, of Pennywell, said: "We were always going to come along when we knew it was here because Rhys loves trucks so we knew he'd wanted to be here.
