South Tynesiders hailed the annual camel parade as a big success after thousands of people turned out for the annual event in South Shields.
The animals travelled through the town centre as part of the Christmas Wonderland Parade.
Afterwards, comments flooded into the Gazette’s Facebook page, mainly praising the parade, which also included performances by drummers from Spark! and stilt-walking shepherds.
North East band Rose Parade entertained the crowd and a fireworks display at South Shields seafront brought the evening to a close.
Laura Louise Hudson posted: “Fab night. My children throughly enjoyed it.”
Emma Watts added: “Brilliant night my kids loved it.”
