Body is that of missing Sally
A body recovered from the River Tyne this week has been identified as that of missing woman Sally Allan.
Police have confirmed the body, which was found on Wednesday, is that of 69-year-old Sally.
She had not been seen since the early hours of Boxing Day when she left her home in Ponteland.
"Our thoughts continue to be with the family at this difficult time and a report has been prepared for the coroner, " said a police statement.
