Jarrow woman airlifted to hospital after fall at Hadrian's Wall

A Jarrow woman has suffered a serious leg injury while walking along Hadrian's Wall.

The Great North Air Ambulance was called to the landmark site to assist paramedics.

The woman, aged between 41 and 50, sustained a serious leg injury after suffering a fall.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: "GNAA was called to assist North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) with a patient who had fallen whilst walking long Hadrian's wall and sustained a leg injury.

"The patient was treated on scene by the doctor, paramedic team before being flown to Carlisle Hospital for on-going treatment. "

Her injuries are described as non life-threatening and she is said to be in a stable condition.
