Newcastle United target Loic Remy eyeing a loan move ahead of Euro 2016, according to a report.

The Gazette reported on the club's interest in taking the France international on a six-month loan earlier this month.

But Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink dismissed a move in this month's transfer window.

Hiddink said: "He will stay until the end of the season.

"I have seen little of him because he repeatedly fell into injury. I am curious. I hope Remy picks it up. I hope he will deliver if he is needed."

However, Chelsea must move out a player if they are to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato.

And Remy, as previously reported, needs to be playing week in, week out ahead of Euro 2016, which is being staged in France.

The 29-year-old forward is keen on a loan move this month, according to Sky Sports.

Relegation-threatened Newcastle desperately need to sign a striker this month.

Remy spent the 2013-14 season on loan at St James's Park.

He scored 14 goals for the club.
