Passengers are being warned of train hold-ups due to sheep on the line in the North East.

Rail operator LNER said trains on the East Coast Mainline, which connects the North East to London, Edinburgh, York and other key destinations, are having to run at reduced speed on all lines due to sheep on the railway.

The animals have accessed the line between Alnmouth and Berwick.
