South Shields park gets new noticeboards
West Park has been given two noticeboards, made and donated by Whiteleas resident Derek Williamson.
They will be installed near the bottom and middle entrances of the park and will allow the Friends of West Park and the wider community to share information.

Councillor Dick, said: “We are extremely grateful to Mr Williamson for his hard work creating these noticeboards and his generosity for donating them to West Park.
“The noticeboards will be a fantastic addition allowing the community and the Friends of West Park to share public notices and news about what’s going on in the park and the local area.”
One noticeboard has been put up by ISS Facility Services Ltd, one of South Tyneside Council’s ground maintenance contractors, and Derek is putting the final touches to the second.

The hand-crafted noticeboards feature a perspex window to protect notices and a flower box around their base.
Both signs will bear the council crest and ‘Welcome to West Park – South Shields’ thanks to one of South Tyneside Homes’ Porperty Services Team’s sign writers.
Adam Ellison, of Friends of West Park, said: “We are extremely thankful for Mr Williamson’s donation to the park and the work of South Tyneside Homes Property Services in helping put the final touches to the noticeboards.”
