Newcastle United are back in Premier League action this weekend, when they take on Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon.

Writing in his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, pundit Mark Lawrenson backed a 2-0 win for the visitors.

Justifying his prediction, the ex-Liverpool defender claimed: "Newcastle got a really good point against Liverpool, when Magpies boss Steve Bruce was just coming under a bit of pressure.

"But this is Leicester away, and we know how good the Foxes are on the road. Jamie Vardy should start too, after only coming on as a substitute against Crystal Palace earlier in the week."

Meanwhile, Lawro's opponent for the midweek fixtures, The Farm front-man Peter Hooton, opted for a 2-1 Foxes win.

Last time the two sides met, back on New Year's Day last year, Newcastle were comfortable beaten 3-0 at St James' Park, with former Magpies star Ayoze Perez scoring the opening goal.
