Jarrow manager Dave Bell has praised the performances of new signing Adam Lennox.

The former Hebburn Town under-23s forward joined the Perth Green side last month after impressing during a number of training sessions.

Lennox has continued to impress during Jarrow’s pre-season schedule and has found the net in their last three friendly fixtures against South Shields Academy and Northern League Division One duo Whitley Bay and Hebburn Town.

Bell admitted that he knew little of Lennox before he trained with his side – but has tipped the forward to “take things in his stride” as he prepares for his first experience of the Northern League.

He told The Gazette: “First and foremost, Adam works hard in training and on matchday.

“He never lets up, the always causes defenders problems and he is a very good finisher.

“I didn’t know about him before he came training with us, but when I saw him in training I could see what he was like.

“It hasn’t surprised me after seeing that, and he’s scored in every game he’s played for us.

“He’s been really good; we were looking for a forward to partner Liam McBryde and he steps in well alongside him.

“We will have to be patient with him, he hasn’t been in the Northern League, but he takes things in his stride and I am excited to see what he can do for us.”

Bell’s side face their final scheduled pre-season fixture on Tuesday night when they visit Seaham Red Star – although the Jarrow boss confirmed he is hoping to organise one more friendly before the Northern League season gets underway.
