On Sunday, November 24, it was announced that comedian Chris and his professional dance partner Karen Hauer had survived another week of the BBC One series after they wowed the judges and the viewers at home.
This week, he scored 31 points out of 40 for his performance of the more serious dance, Paso Doble, in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
In a behind the scenes clip from the main show Chris said: “I didn’t think I’d make it here” and claimed he was “in shock” after receiving high scores from the judges.
During a training break earlier this week back home at Harton Academy in South Shields, he told our reporter Debra Fox how grateful he was for the “unbelievable support” he had received during the series.
The public votes were added to the existing scores and before the results were announced, Motsi Mabuse said Chris was “leaving his soul on the dance floor” in his performance.
Once again, they managed to hold their place in the competition.
The 33-year-old jumped for joy and gave a thumbs up to the camera while thanking his supporters.
It was YouTube star, Saffron Barker and her dance partner AJ Pritchard who were unanimously voted off by the judges after they battled against Karim Zeroual and Amy Dowden in the dance-off.
Saffron said: "It's been amazing. I'd like to thank AJ so much, when I look at what I was like on week one I was so embarrassed and shy.”
Chris, like Saffron, also a non-dancer before the show, will dance again for your votes.
He is now one of only five couples left in the competition and he will perform in the quarter final’s musical special, which will air at 7.10pm on Saturday, November 30.
