This highlights that airlines should not be offering their customers other forms of compensation rather than full refunds.
Andrew McConnell, a spokesman for the UK Civil Aviation Authority, said: “The UK Civil Aviation Authority understands the acute impact that Coronavirus is having on holidaymakers whose travel plans have been affected, and the aviation industry.
“We have provided information on our dedicated Covid-19 webpage for passengers, holidaymakers and the industry.

Mr McConnell also expressed how important it is that consumers are aware of their rights during these unprecedented times.
He added: “The Civil Aviation Authority will take the necessary action to protect consumers.
“With this in mind, we have published guidelines regarding airlines’ responsibilities on refunds and cancellations and we continue to actively monitor this situation as it develops.”
