A popular budget food store is set to be unveiled after undergoing refurbishment.

Heron Foods is set to open its new-look store in South Shields on Thursday July 9 2020.

Bosses say the refurbished store at The Nook in Prince Edward Road will offer a “completely new in-store experience featuring new fascia, stand-up freezers and layout”.

The branch, which is scheduled to reopen at 8am on Thursday, will offer “extended ranges of ambient and chilled products”, and will also stock alcohol.

Store manager, Kelly Corner, said: “We are building on our existing reputation in the area and improving our offering to customers with our new look and expanded ranges. We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers when we reopen on Thursday 9 July.”

The store will be open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 7pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
