The Wouldhave on Mile End Road will pull pints again on Tuesday, September 1 and will employ 45 full and part-time staff.

The JD Wetherspoon bar has undergone a complete refurbishment, as well as expansion to the customer area and the creation of a new garden.

Wetherspoon bought the former night club building next door, which has been partially demolished to create the new split-level terrace garden.

The pub has been extended and the new part of the building will contain the new relocated bar and cellar area.

The refurbishment work has also included a new kitchen, staff rooms and refurbished customer toilets.

The pub has been completely refurbished and redecorated throughout, including a new colour scheme and finishes, carpets and lighting, as well as a mixture of new and spruced up furniture and artwork.

Manager of The Wouldhave, Phil Riddle, said: “Wetherspoon has spent £2.21 million on the pub, providing further substantial investment into the area, as well as creating new jobs for local people.

“Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers back into The Wouldhave and we are confident that they will be impressed by the new-look and larger pub, as well as the brand new garden.”
