Hebburn Sports Club bar closes for deep clean after a customer tests positive for coronavirus

The club made the announcement via their Facebook page yesterday (Wednesday, August 19) that a customer had informed them of their positive test.
According to the post, the customer had visited the establishment on Sunday, August 16 between 12.30pm and 2pm – where they used the downstairs bar area and only had one drink.

Hide AdFollowing the information that they received from the customer, the bar has closed for a deep clean and will reopen on Friday, August 21 at 12pm.
The sports club has also confirmed that it has contacted all the necessary authorities and have ensured the public that all the appropriate guidance relating to coronavirus has been followed.
A statement on the club’s Facebook page said: "The facility has been made aware by a customer on Wednesday, August 19 at 12pm that they have tested positive for Covid-19 after completing a test on Tuesday, August 18.
“As result of this information the management have taken the pro-active approach to close the sports bar facility for a period of 48 hours (Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20) to allow a deep cleaning process to occur.
