Northumberland country pub The Red Lion Inn near Wooler goes up for sale
Freehold offers in the region of £420,000 are being sought for The Red Lion Inn at Milfield, near Wooler.
The attractive 18th century Grade II listed property is being offered for sale by owners Iain and Claire Burn, who after over 30 years in the licensed trade are wishing to move to pastures new.
The Leeds office of leisure property specialists, Fleurets, has been instructed to handle the sale.
Nick Thomas of Fleurets said: “The Red Lion Inn is an established and profitable business with a broad base of trade.
“During their ownership, the Burns’ have developed the Red Lion into a successful all-round country inn, which involved the building of a detached block of four letting bedrooms coming on stream in 2015”.
Looking to the future, recently granted planning permission for a new residential development in the village should further help to attract additional local trade.
The property has a good range of bar and dining areas, together with a total of six en-suite letting bedrooms.
For owners there is a good family size flat, comprising: lounge, open-plan kitchen diner and utility room, together with three bedrooms and a house bathroom.
The property also fronts the scenic A697 which attracts passing trade and is close to Northumberland National Park.
Trading accounts for year-end 30th April 2019 show strong profits on sales £396,286 net of VAT.
