Popular family butchers Dicksons to launch new home delivery app in South Shields

Residents will soon be able to get their favourite meat products delivered straight to their door as a popular family butchers announces plans for a new home delivery service.

Dicksons of South Shields has developed a new home delivery app that will allow customers to order a wide range of food items from the menu to be delivered directly to their front door.

The new app which launches on Sunday, February 2 will initially be available for Sunday delivery only from 9am-3pm, for customers in the South Shields area.

However, the family firm aims to roll out home delivery options covering seven days a week by spring 2020 depending on customer demand.

Mike Dickson JR, retail project manager at Dicksons commented: “This is a real step forward in the future growth of Dicksons as we secure our presence in the growing app-led home delivery service.

“We expect interest to be high among our loyal customers seeking to enjoy the Dicksons products they know and love. Our app development team and shop staff have helped to refine the delivery service to appeal to customers looking for food at the click of a button that delivers on the local food heritage of a family firm like Dicksons.”

Customers will be able to access the full range of food-to-go options offered by Dicksons, including the famed Saveloy Dip, ham and pease pudding sandwich, as well as a selection of grocery items and everyday essentials such as bacon, eggs and bread buns.

The app can also be used to manage click ‘n’ collect orders for in-store pick-up at the Dicksons Boldon Lane shop.

Mr Dickson Jr continued: “Our business strategy is focused on meeting customer needs and home delivery is a key area we have been keen to provide.

“As well as having our own delivery team servicing customers via our Dicksons direct app, we’ve also partnered with Uber Eats to broaden the choices available to our customers.

“We hope our customers enjoy the easy access to Dicksons food to your door when our new delivery service launches officially on February 2.”

The Dicksons Collection & Delivery app is available to download now and orders can be placed via the website midickson.com
