and live on Freeview channel 276
Shah Lalon Amin, of Indian street food venue Delhi 6 in Ocean Road, has made it through to the grand finale of the Channel S show Catering Circle, with his proven recipe for success.
The catering talent show sees successful restaurateurs from across the country compete to impress the judges with their business models.

Hide AdLalon beat off stiff competition in episode nine of the series back in October, earning him a place in the final among 10 of the UK’s top Indian restaurants – the only North East venue to make it through.

“The questions were tough and the other contestants were really seasoned,” said Lalon.
“I was the only person from the North East and many people didn’t even know where South Shields was. That really motivated me to make sure we come away winning.”
In the live episode on February 25, Lalon will give a presentation about his business and answer the judge’s questions in a bid to walk away with the sought-after accolade.

“It would get South Shields national coverage, thousands of people will watch the show and last time we actually got new customers from it.”
Since Lalon opened the Delhi 6 in September 2018 – in the same premises as his father ran an Indian restaurant over 30 years ago - he has already been recognised with two national awards, including Best New Restaurant at the English Curry Awards.
“I do feel confident but I am up against some really successful businesses so fingers crossed we can bring it home and put South Shields on the map,” Lalon added.
