Northumbrian Water has Tweeted that it is carrying out work in Dean Road and supplies are expected to be affected for around another hour.
The company has thanked customers for their patience while the work continues.
The social media message shortly before noon today, Thursday, April 7, said: “Emergency repair required.
“Water supplied around #DeanRoad may be affected until 1pm.
“Thank you for your patience.”
