The Lakeside Inn, in Jarrow is launching the breakfast group ‘Petite Dejeuner’ from the pub, with the aim of bringing running and fitness enthusiasts in the community together.

Deriving its name from Petit Dejeuner , the French for breakfast, the club will see runners go for a 10k or 10 mile run together before returning to the pub for some breakfast and a free hot drink.

The group will be open to runners of all capabilities and provide members of the community a chance to share their fitness passion with others.

The Lakeside will be hosting the group weekly every Wednesday and are hoping to have guest speakers for the group in the future to share their passion for running, fitness and health.

Lakeside Inn manager, Carl Mowatt, who came up with the idea, recently completed a 100 mile run to raise money for a good cause.
