Heworth Grange celebrates World Book Day with special quiz
Students were also given a £1 book token and the chance to talk about their favourite books
Students at Heworth Grange, part of Consilium Academies, marked World Book Day on Thursday, 6 March with a special quiz during form time.
The students enjoyed the challenge and the winning form was 10DMC.
Every lesson at Heworth Grange on World Book Day started with staff members recommending books to read, reading extracts aloud and sharing trailers of books to promote a love of reading.

Students also had the opportunity to share their favourite books and discuss their favourite stories.
All students were given a £1 book token to spend on a book of their choice.
The theme of this year’s World Book Day was “Read Your Way,” encouraging youngsters to explore reading in their own way, making it a fun and personal experience.
World Book Day is a charity working to promote reading for pleasure and ensure every child has access to books. This year’s celebrations aimed to break down the perception that reading is a chore and instead highlighted how reading can be an enjoyable, social, and rewarding experience.
Michael McCarthy, CEO of Consilium Academies, said: “Helping our students to enjoy reading is one of the most important things we can do as educators.
"Staff and students at Heworth Grange thoroughly enjoyed World Book Day celebrations and we hope the day will encourage young people to develop a life-long love of reading.”
