Students make Fleming Court Care Home resident’s 100th birthday unforgettable

Students from Northern Counties school, part of the Percy Hedley Foundation, visited the Fleming Court Care Home for a resident’s centenary celebrations.

Maisie Dalziel, a resident of Fleming Court Care Home in Jesmond, had asked for “nicely written cards” to mark her 100th birthday, leading for staff to appeal to the local community to make this happen.

Among the well-wishers were deaf students from the Percy Hedley Foundation’s British Sign Language Choir. They arrived with handmade cards and gifts, before treating Maisie to a touching rendition of ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’, followed by a signed version of 'Happy Birthday'.
