The staff have received dozens of thank you messages from facilities across the North East who have received the PPE.
Many have praised the teachers for their “generosity” and applauded their efforts, saying how “grateful” and “relieved” essential workers were.
“It was something that design technology departments across the country have been doing, but it was nice to see everyone coming together as a team and Sir Ken Gibson and the other members of staff were really supportive,” said Mr Reiss.

“The messages that we have got from people saying we have helped them feel a little bit safer while they do their job have made it worthwhile.”
Executive headteacher, Sir Ken Gibson, has also commented how proud he is of his staff, he said: “Mr Reiss approached me a few weeks ago with the idea of making face visors for the NHS, care homes, police and other good causes.
“I thought that he might produce a couple of hundred but to have produced almost 3,200 is absolutely incredible.
