These are the 12 areas in South Tyneside with the highest Covid case rates recorded between Friday, January 15, and Thursday, January 21, according to official figures.
In the seven-day period, 446 confirmed cases were confirmed in South Tyneside – which is down from 702 on December 31, 2020.
The case rate takes into account the number of people living in each area compared to the number of people who have tested positive for the virus and are measured by 100,000 people.
The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
1. Harton (East)
The case rate is 468.5 per 100,000 people. 26 cases were recorded in the area in seven days.
