From April 3. Not long after lockdown began, the car parks at the coast were closed to discourage vistors in high numbers.

From June 16. Disappointingly, but perhaps not surprisingly, the 40th Great North Run had to be cancelled.

From October 30. South Tyneside was staying in Tier 2 for the time being - but, as things turned out, the move to Tier 3 would come swiftly.
