However, the vast majority of people in South Shields appeared to resist any temptation stray outside the Government’s coronavirus rules on leaving home.

To save lives and protect the NHS, the rules are that we can only be out for the following reasons.

Exercising alone, or with members of your household.

Shopping for basic essentials.

Any medical needs, or providing care for a vulnerable person.

Travelling to or from work, but only when you cannot work from home.
