Town Hall bosses are pleading with everyone to stay away from the beaches, parks and coastline this Easter weekend despite the forecasted warm weather.

The message comes as coronavirus lockdown measures remain in place from the UK – with the public encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines.

“Don’t come to our beaches, don’t come to our parks, don’t come to our seafront, please stay at home.

“I know that Easter is a time for family gatherings and celebration but this Easter is different. This Easter you must stay at home, as a household, with no visitors.”

Residents have also been reminded to look after their mental health during the UK lockdown.

Mr Hall added: “It is extremely important that we remember to look after both our body and mind during this difficult time.

“There are lots of really useful resources available out there and we should all use this extra time to really focus on our own health and wellbeing.

“Staying at home may be difficult, but it is the single most important action you can take in order to protect yourself, others and the NHS.”
