

The nine areas of South Tyneside with the biggest fall in Covid case rates as tier three restrictions begin
Covid rates are continuing to fall across large parts of South Tyneside and the surrounding area, latest figures indicate.
As Covid cases in South Tyneside continue to drop, we take a look at the areas which have recorded the biggest decrease in the percentage of new Covid-19 cases in the seven days leading up to Thursday, November 26, compared to the week before.
The case rate takes into account the number of people living in each area compared to the number of people who have tested positive for the virus and are measured by 100,000 people.
The figures are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two). Pictures are for illustrative purposes only.
