When South Shields' fair Ocean Beach Pleasure Park is expected to reopen after lockdown

Fun at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields on a previous Easter weekend.

But sadly hitting the rides is yet another annual occasion which must be forgone again in 2021 due to covid restrictions.

Ocean Beach is set to reopen again from Monday April 12, with rides operating from 11am to 8pm.

For now, some food outlets at the fair are open for takeaway.

The Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf Course is also open as restrictions on outdoor leisure eased from Monday, March 29.

Social-distancing and hygiene measures are in place.

Outdoor sports facilities such as golf courses, tennis and basketball courts, and open-air swimming pools, are all allowed to reopen, and people can also take part in formally organised outdoor sports.

The next roadmap date, April 12, will see outdoor hospitality, theme parks, fairs, zoos and drive-in cinemas reopen, as well as indoor leisure facilities such as gyms, so long as criteria are met.
