Nine photos from a day at South Shields' Downhill Infants School in 2006

We’ve got drummers, litter pickers and stage stars and the link is they were all pictured on the same day at Downhill Infants School.

A Shields Gazette photographer visited the school just days before its closure in August 2006.

Pictures were taken of all sorts of fun at the school in Dorset Avenue including children dressing up and others in their school uniform.

We hope you enjoy our trip back in time. Take a look and then get in touch to share your own images.
